Dear steward,
I pray you and yours are doing well!
Our family has been closing out the summer season with a beach vacation. We head home tomorrow.
It’s been nice to get some rest and give some much needed attention to the recreational domain of stewardship. But I’m looking forward to getting back into a regular rhythm.
It’s hard switching gears from summer-mode to fall-mode, though, isn’t it? Getting back into good habits, a normal schedule, and the requisite organization required to keep up with the increased pace of life this time of year are all easier said than done. But over the years I’ve developed a good process to make that shift a bit smoother for myself.
And I want to help you do just that. Which is why I’ll be hosting the annual Post-Summer Productivity Reset workshop next Friday. In this free webinar, I’ll walk you through a process for getting your spiritual disciplines back on track and developing clarity around your projects and goals in a way that keeps Christ first.

THE ROUNDUP
The best links I found this week
Glorifying God Through Productivity (3 mins)
Reagan Rose / Ligonier
I had the opportunity to write for Ligonier this week on my favorite topic.
Because productivity is often associated with worldly ambition, believers can be tempted to write off the topic as something reserved for the business world or for those who have an ungodly obsession with avarice and achievement. The truth, however, is that there is no group for whom productivity is more important than Christians.
The Use of Your Time Jonathan Edwards (64 mins)
Steven J. Lawson / Men Who Rocked the World
This sermon might just change your life. In fact, I challenge you to listen to it and not be convicted.
Speaking personally, Jonathan Edwards life was one of the key sources of inspiration that led me to start Redeeming Productivity back in 2016. This biographical sermon will show you why.
Your Holy Deeds Are Not Filthy Rags (6 mins)
John Piper / Desiring God
A needed and helpful corrective to a common misunderstanding of the value of Christian good works.
We’ve got to get this right, brothers and sisters. Good works are the very thing God wants us to be productive in.
Think what a horrible thing it would be to say that the fruit of the Holy Spirit in the Christian life is filthy rags. I can hardly stand to even think about it. They are not filthy rags. They are God’s precious gift and work in us.

Eternally-Minded Time Management (6 mins)
You manage your time based on the outcome you want to achieve. So, how does the fact that we will live for eternity transform how we manage our time in this life?
A DOSE OF WISDOM
Quote of the Week
Resolved, Never to lose one moment of time, but improve it the most profitable way I possibly can.
Jonathan Edwards
