Dear steward,

This newsletter edition is coming to you a day later than usual. My apologies.

With hosting Wednesday’s webinar and doing a little kitchen renovation this week, I didn’t have things quite as polished as I’d like for this edition for the regular Thursday send.

We had a great turnout for the Time Management Crash Course webinar, by the way. If you couldn’t make it, I posted the teaching portion of the webinar to my YouTube channel and podcast feed. Enjoy!

I also just wanted to say a quick thank you.

Whenever I host these live events, I’m always surprised at how many of you come (we filled up our 500-person registration cap!). And so many of you sent me encouraging notes during and after the event. I appreciate that very much.

Redeeming Productivity has been a labor of love for me since I started the blog nearly 8 years ago. And I just want you to know how grateful I am that you read this newsletter, listen to the podcast, and watch my videos. An especially big thank you goes to those of you who support us through Patreon or by being a member of our Redeeming Productivity Academy.

I pray that Redeeming Productivity is a blessing to you! It’s an honor to serve you.

Okay, enough mushy stuff. Let’s dive into this week’s link roundup.

4 Simple Ways to Read More Books (6 mins)

Clayton Kraby / Reasonable Theology

These are some great tips on how to read more books.

  1. Make a Plan
  2. Schedule a Time to Read
  3. Reject “Junk Food” Reading
  4. Embrace Audiobooks

The author even shares resources for most of these tips, and even a spreadsheet you can use to track your reading.

For more tips on reading more, check out these from Redeeming Productivity:

Biblical Priorities (5 mins)

Beverly Moore / Biblical Counseling Coalition

Just like we don’t have unlimited money to buy whatever we want, we don’t have unlimited time to do whatever we want. God has ordained that there are only 24 hours in a day. That’s 168 hours in a week. God expects us to be good stewards of our time and effective for His Kingdom.

Great practical wisdom on living by priority. The author includes a 7-step process for evaluating and changing your schedule to accomodate your priorities.

Study the Bible in 5, 15, or 30 Minutes (4 mins)

Kristen Wetherell / The Gospel Coalition

Many of us have good intentions when it comes to reading our Bibles. But before we know it, the screens have sabotaged our focus, the needs of family or work take over, and we’ve hit the ground sprinting. How can busy people with full lives make these good intentions our reality?

A DOSE OF WISDOM

Quote of the Week

Pride makes a god of self, covetousness makes a god of money, sensuality makes a god of the belly; whatever is esteemed or loved, feared or served, delighted in or depended on, more than God, that (whatever it is) we do in effect make a god of.
